Impounding Reservior Spillway Repairs
Pre Task Survey
We were approached to undertake de-vegetation works and a condition survey of the clients structure, highlighting areas where repairs could be required.
A bespoke access system was utilised, minimalizing disruption for the client.
Third Party and Environmental Safety
To ensure water safety, mitigate environmental health and ecological risks, portable dust extraction was used with power tools, alongside a space net to ensure debris was not dropped into the reservoir and a suitable product conforming to relevant drinking water standards was specified.
Maintaining public access and ensuring the safety of both the public and other site users was paramount in this task. An access arrangement that negated the need for heavy plant or temporary scaffolding was implemented.
Carrying Out The Works
A requirement to secure the capping stones and replace concrete fillets was identified. A total of 97 anchor studs were drilled to a specified monolith embedment depth. Installed with an injectable hybrid mortar.
Once all the rods were installed, all defective joints of the
capping stones were removed. These areas were then
thoroughly cleaned and keyed in preparation for the repair material.
Advantage Of Rope Access
Rope access offers a versatile, efficient, and cost-effective solution for working at heights or in difficult-to-reach locations. It minimizes the need for scaffolding or heavy machinery, reducing setup time and expenses. Rope access enhances safety by allowing technicians to quickly manoeuvre around structures while being securely harnessed, reducing the risk of falls. Additionally, rope access is less intrusive to the surrounding environment. Making it ideal for maintenance, inspections, and repairs on buildings, bridges, wind turbines, and other infrastructures where minimal disruption is crucial.
